ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is to give space for the examination of physical and psychological self. I work by exploring what it is for me to be in this world, how I see myself, others, nature, and the growth and decay of all living things.  My methodology is a layering of mediums, ideas and thoughts, constructing and deconstructing; working until techniques and skill release to insight. The aesthetic plays a strong role and I find inspiration in personal connections.  My work talks of loss, kindness, and memory, these we all share and it is in our joint experiences I hope to connect on a very personal level.  I work in the abstract as well as realism.
